How to Use the Cooboard

What You Will Need

• Cooboard 5x12 — the original professional hair color board with built-in teeth
• Foiling and Teasing Comb — for precise parting and teasing
• Professional Pop-Up Foils — 500 sheets, heavy emboss grip
• Color Brush — for smooth lightener application

Step by Step — Teasy Lights with the Cooboard

1. Section the hair — divide into clean, manageable panels based on your desired placement
2. Take a slice or weave — choose based on your desired result
3. Backcomb from ends towards roots — the amount of tease controls your shadow effect. A lighter tease creates a more natural result. A heavier tease creates more depth and contrast.
4. Slide the Cooboard into the hair against the tease — the built-in teeth grip the hair and hold it flat against the scalp, freeing both hands
5. Apply lightener using the Cooboard as your platform — apply closer to the root for a brighter result, lower on the strand for a more lived-in dimensional look
6. Fold foil over and move to the next section — check color after 30 minutes from start of application
7. Tone and finish — always follow with a toner or gloss to customize and perfect the final color
